West Point Treatment Plant
C1-C2 Reservoir Modifications
King County - $1.4 mill - Completed March, 2020
This project upgraded two existing underground water tanks (18,000 gal and 170,000 gal capacities) that provide water to West Point Treatment Plant and Discovery Park. The upgrades were necessary to allow safe and efficient annual inspections of the reservoirs.
Work on this Contract isolated the two tanks, built hatches for above ground access, added air gaps for each tank, and installed new overflow piping. Specifically, this required the installation of flow control and isolation valves, above grade air gaps with heated and secured enclosures, and new reservoir piping. This also required improvements to the construction site access trail, along Discovery Park's Loop Trail, regrading of soil above reservoir vaults, and associated electrical upgrades.
